Squaw Valley holds the
title as the largest ski resort in North Lake Tahoe. A massive
amount of terrain which spans more than 4,000 skiable acres will have
you hooting and hollering all day, every day! Squaw Valley looks and feels like a ski
area in Europe's famous Alps. Squaw Valley USA boasts meticulously
groomed runs for those who love to carve corduroy turns. In fact, 25%
percent of the terrain is geared toward beginner- and intermediate-level
skiers, with wide-open bowls and excellently spaced runs. Advanced
skiers are treated to vast areas left in their pristine state for a
true wilderness experience in some of the most challenging terrain
in the world.
Several recent additions and renovations will boost your winter experience
at Squaw Valley. The resort has replaced the Shirley Lake detachable
quad with a high-speed Doppelmayr six-person lift (the new lift will
follow the traditional line, with loading and unloading at the usual
spots). The Riviera superpipe, which has been dug out of the ground,
will be surrounded with lights, giving Squaw the only night-time access
superpipe in the Tahoe area.
