Pennsylvania: The Keystone State is home to both the Laurel Highlands and the Pocono Mountains. As such, it’s not surprising that there are more than two dozen ski areas in the state. As most people on the East Coast know, most of Pennsylvania is quite rural, which makes its mountains the perfect place for ski resorts. Popular Blue Mountain has the greatest vertical in the state. Seven Springs, with its variety of terrain, is another of the state’s favorite resorts. Much like anywhere on the East Coast, Pennsylvania can have some chilly temperatures in the winter so dress appropriately when coming to ski or snowboard in Pennsylvania. The most common airports for skiers coming to Pennsylvania are Allentown (ABE), Philadelphia (PHL), and Pittsburgh (PIT).
