Sierra-at-Tahoe: About 16 miles from the Nevada border sits the family-friendly ski resort of Sierra-at-Tahoe. Unlike most of the Tahoe resorts, it is located on the south side of the lake, in the Eldorado National Forest. We have been coming to Sierra for about eight years. During that time, our kids have progressed from ski school to intermediate level. We have appreciated the friendliness of the staff, the good food at the top of the mountain, the easy access from South Lake Tahoe lodging, and the number of available runs for beginners and novices. Discount packages online and at the resort help to keep prices reasonable. Many of the staff appear to be from other countries, which adds to the character of Sierra. Perhaps the best way to sum it up is to say, “Sierra is family friendly.”

Sierra at Tahoe has become one of my favorite Lake Tahoe ski resorts. I saved some good cash flow on my lift tickets by buying them through GetSkiTickets.com so that was cool. I will definitely come back!
