Combine Your Mountain Life With Social Media

by Brandon Quinn | September 2, 2010

Have you ever wondered how much vertical you’ve skied in a day? How about for an entire season? Wonder no longer, you can now know for sure. You’ll also be able to track how many days you’ve been on the mountain without having to log it anywhere. Skiers and snowboarders at Vail Resorts will be able to track their days stats on the slopes with a new technology called EpicMix. Social media users will also be able to share their accomplishments with their friends as well as find out who else is on the mountain for the day.

Vail Resort officials unveiled the new program this week. Simply purchasing a Vail Resorts lift ticket gives users access to the EpicMix online and mobile application. Vail Resorts include Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone in Colorado, and Heavenly in California. EpicMix receivers are being installed at all 89 lifts across the five resorts.
