GPS-enabled Goggles Hit the Market

Skiing technology continues to push the envelope. Vancouver’s Recon Instruments has announced today the release of GPS-enabled goggles. These goggles give skiers and boarders instant feedback to a tiny LCD screen. The Transcend Goggles deliver real-time measures on everything from speed to vertical distance traveled.
The Recon-Zeal Transcend goggles come in two models: The Transcend SPPX with SPPX polarized and photochromic lens at $500 US and Transcend SPX with SPX polarized lens at $400 US.
The goggles connect to your computer via USB for data transfer. While on the mountain, the micro LCD display appears to be ‘glove friendly’ for operation on the slopes.
