After a grueling 104 days without skiing and riding, your favorite volcano is back at it. This Saturday, Mammoth Mountain will be turning its lifts for the first time this season and giving you the chance to knock the cobwebs off your snow legs. Surfing is cool and running is cool, but isn’t snow cooler? Just be cool.

Come for the Turns, Stay for the Party

Maybe don’t come in expecting big mountain turns and bottomless powder, but you can expect to have one helluva great time. Opening day at Mammoth Mountain is always a blast and full of events from the traditional first chair banner breakthrough to live music and drinks in the evening. Get a first-hand look at a journey that follows the riding of snowboarders Red Gerard, Sage Kotsenburg, and Ben Ferguson in JOY.
