Opening Dates for Colorado Ski Resorts

by Kirsten Dobroth | October 30, 2017

It’s official! November is fast approaching, and snow making operations are in full swing at ski resorts around Colorado. While you can already get your ribbon of death fix at Arapahoe Basin (opened Oct. 13) and Loveland (opened Oct. 20), other ski resorts are crossing their fingers for continued cold temperatures (and more white, fluffy stuff) to start spinning their lifts over the coming weeks. We’re also crossing out fingers that there won’t be a repeat of last year (when warm temperatures forced several resorts to push back their opening days), so we’ve put together a list of opening dates for Colorado ski resorts so you can plan your weekend wisely throughout the fall.

Copper Mountain: November 10

Keystone Resort: November 10

Breckenridge: November 10

Winter Park: November 15

Eldora: November 17

Vail Mountain: November 17

Beaver Creek Resort: November 22

Monarch Mountain: November 22

Aspen Mountain & Snowmass: November 23

Steamboat Springs: November 23

Purgatory – The Prettiest Resort in the Southwest?

About 7 hours south of Denver, striated cliff bands welcome you as you make your way up through the town of Durango to Purgatory Mountain Resort. The name of the resort is certainly a misnomer – Purgatory appears to be anything but! Protected by its remote location,...

Staying safe in DEEP pow

Let’s talk about the snowpack. It’s not just your imagination, 2022-23 has been an excellent snow year so far. The West in general is still dry as ever, but it is nice to at least take a moment to enjoy the snow we do have. In California, reeling from a couple years...
