These Resorts Just Got Dumped On

Did anyone make it out on the mountain the last couple days?! The past storm that swept across much of the West dumped a massive amount of snow on pretty much every resort. While Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico got especially hit by the storm, Washington and Montana also saw some pretty impressive accumulation over the past couple days. According to OnTheSnow, these resorts just got dumped on, and are claiming the most snowfall in North America over the past 24 hours.

1. Sunrise Park Resort, Arizona, 16 inches
2. Steamboat Resort, Colorado, 11 inches
3. Snowbird Resort, Utah, 9 inches
4. Alta Ski Area, Utah, 8 inches
5. Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado, 7 inches
6. Stevens Pass Resort, Washington, 7 inches
7. Bridger Bowl, Montana, 6 inches
8. Powderhorn Resort, Colorado, 6 inches
9. Sipapu Ski Resort, New Mexico, 6 inches
10. Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico, 6 inches
11. Vail Resort, Colorado, 6 inches

It should be noted that while these resorts claim the most snow over 24 hours, there were some massive snowfall totals over 48 hours that aren’t quite reflected in this list. Brian Head Resort, which didn’t make the 24 hour snowfall list, is claiming 38 inches over the last two days (say what?!). Another interesting tidbit worth mentioning is that only one East Coast representative appears on the entire list of resorts claiming the most snow over the past day. Mont Saint Anne, in Quebec, apparently hasn’t been experiencing the same heat wave as much of the surrounding area, and reported 4 inches of accumulation over the past day, and 6 inches over 48 hours.
After a sunny weekend, more snow is in the forecast (at least for much of the West and Rocky Mountain region), which means, if you haven’t yet, it’s time to bust out those snow sliding devices and head to the hill. If the past storm is any indication of what’s to come, it’s probably safe to bet on some serious powder days in the near future.
