Absolutely gorgeous mountain we loved it!
We loved Panorama, we had great snow, next to no queuing and lovely long sweeping runs along with some challenging blacks – what more could you ask for! We were lucky with the weather too. The lifties were very friendly. It did take a long time to get to the summit and 3 chairlifts but it was worth it as the views were spectacular and the runs were plentiful and challenging. We were disappointed with the quality of the food served on the mountain and at the base, it was mostly convenience food and was poorly regenerated and consequently poor value for money.
We stayed in Invermere and used the courtesy bus to and from Panorama. It was always very punctual but was a mad scramble to get on at the end of the day! We ate out at the Birchwood restaurant and Elements Grill at Copper Point Resort and were delighted with the food and service. We stayed in Lake Windermere Pointe and were very comfortable in our well appointed condo.
What a great ski area
We had excellent accommodation at Windermere Point. Although we had a hire car we used the courtesy bus which was punctual quick and really handy. Skiing was a blast, bluebird days wonderful conditions following on after 48cm snowfall in less than 36 hours, more snow coming in as we departed. We were lucky to select a relatively quiet week toward end of March. No queuing anywhere at anytime. Definitely recommend this well maintained and signed ski hill which offers slopes for a wide range of skills. Getting to the top was slow on the grads definitely a gondola would speed things considerably. Eating out just ok on the slopes, expensive and stodgy even a bit synthetic. Restaurants tried food and service all very good. Very welcoming friendly place
Panorama - doesn't live up to the hype
We went to the area specifically to do spring skiing. Other ski areas in the vicinity had far better snow and coverage. Panorama seems to have an over abundance of long trail type runs and not much in the way of tree skiing for the average skier. They had really good snow in the black diamond areas, but in order to get back to them after skiing them you have to take several lifts to get there. The area isn’t laid out very well, but not much for them to do since that’s the lay of the land.
