What's up at Grand Targhee Resort?

Grand Targhee Resort is a year round mountain resort situated on the western slope of the Tetons in Alta, Wyoming, accessible only through Teton Valley, Idaho. They have three mountain peaks with 2,602 acres of skiable terrain. They are famous for their consistently superb snow conditions with over 500 inches of light powder snow annually. Their abundance of light powder snow and virtual lack of lift lines creates an uncrowded skier and snowboarder paradise. They are continually recognized for their great snow, genuine western hospitality, scenic beauty and excellent value.  One of only a handful of US ski resorts to offer guided snow cat skiing, Grand Targhee reserves 602 acres every winter for powderhounds on the snowcat. Find great deals on both group and individual Grand Targhee Resort lift tickets here. Grand Targhee Resort also offers group corporate lift ticket deals and discounts  at GetSkiTickets.com!

Skier and Rider Resort Review for Grand Targhee Resort

  1.

Downhill skiing: The main lift had a longer line a few days after Christmas but the other lifts had no wait.

Xcountry skiing: Great groomed trails and a beautiful view at the top of the hill. Signs on the XCounty/Skate trails could be clearer- some missing. Well worth the drive.

    Great early-season snow

Pros : Good snow, no lift lines, fun hike-to terrain, great cat skiing, good (and free) kids skiing! And good ticket price!
    Cons : Foggy at times

Had three days of great early-season skiing (two with fresh powder). Never waited in a lift line. Introduced my 3-year-old to skiing for free on the magic carpet and the bunny hill. He loved it!

    A Snow-Lover's Playground

Pros : Diverse terrain, great snow, fantastic value

Loved this place, great way to break away from weekend crowds at Jackson Hole. I felt like I was exploring all day, we kept coming across powder stashes and fun features. Hope to make it back again.

  5.

    Excellent skiing

Pros : Wide open spaces, great sidecountry runs
Cons : Only three lifts, slow double chair Blackfoot accesses some great terrain

Grand Targhee is awesome. It’s not the biggest resort, but it has a lot of variety. Steep groomed runs, great moguls, trees, and gnarly cliffs. Take the time to hike to the top of Mary’s Nipple to get some fresh deep powder lines. Great skiing for a good price.
